Connect Claude as a cloud routine
A Claude Code routine that checks for work on its own, with your computer off.
A Claude Code routine runs in Claude's cloud, so it works with your computer off. It checks for work once an hour; routines cannot run more often than that.
Sprout’s address
https://api.sproutgoodhabits.com/mcp- On claude.ai, add Sprout as a connector: the link on the Connect Claude on claude.ai page, or Customize, then Connectors. The address is https://api.sproutgoodhabits.com/mcp A Sprout you added only in Claude Code on your computer does not reach a routine.
- Sign in to Sprout and approve the permissions. Two of them cover recurring work, and the routine needs both: "See the requests Sprout files for your family, what's waiting on you, and the agents connected to your family." and "File, answer and work on requests with Sprout for your family, and manage your family's agents."
- Open Code, then Routines, and make a routine. Under its Connectors, keep Sprout ticked, with each account it should read (Gmail, Google Calendar), and untick the rest. A routine uses everything in a connector it includes, without asking you.
- Schedule it hourly, and have it start with: "Work for my family on Sprout."
Good to know:
- Turn its own notifications off: Sprout decides when to pull you in, and tells you in chat. The setting is on the routine's Notifications tab.
- For work to start right away, add a "Call via API" trigger to the routine. Sprout gives you a link to a page where you paste the trigger's address and token. The link works for 30 minutes. Paste them only on that page, never to the agent.
- If claude.ai lists any of Sprout's tools as Needs approval (Customize, then Connectors), set them to Always allow. Nobody is there to approve during a run.
- To keep a routine from changing things in another account, set those tools to Blocked in the same place. That blocks them in your chats too.
- On claude.ai, open Settings → Connectors → Gmail.
