Terms of Service

1. Who these terms are for

These Terms of Service apply when you use Sprout Good Habits, including the Sprout Parent app, the Sprout child app, app.sproutgoodhabits.com, and our related support pages. Sprout is built for parents and legal guardians. A child may use the child app only under a parent account and only after the required parent consent is in place.

2. Parent account responsibility

You are responsible for your parent account, the child profiles you create, and the settings you choose for your family. Please keep your sign-in credentials secure. If you believe someone has accessed your account without permission, contact us right away at support@sproutgoodhabits.com.

3. What Sprout provides

Sprout helps families set up habits, tasks, rewards, screen-time routines, and parent-reviewed child activities. Some experiences may use AI to guide a child through a task, help a parent understand progress, or draft family-facing suggestions. Sprout is a family helper, not a substitute for a parent, caregiver, teacher, clinician, or emergency service.

4. Children, consent, and supervision

Children cannot create Sprout accounts, contact Sprout directly, or manage legal or privacy choices on their own. The parent account controls child profiles, consent, data rights, support contact, and account deletion. You agree to use Sprout only for children for whom you have authority to give consent and make these choices.

5. Privacy and child data

Our Children's Privacy Policy explains what we collect, how we use it, who processes it, retention periods, and the rights parents have to review, export, delete, or refuse further collection of a child's information. If these terms and the Privacy Policy say different things about child data, the Privacy Policy controls for that child-data issue.

6. Family content and submissions

Sprout may let a child or parent submit messages, photos, videos, audio, task proofs, routines, or other family content. You keep the rights you already have in that content. You give Sprout permission to host, process, display, and transmit it only as needed to provide the service, keep it safe, support your family, and meet legal obligations.

7. Support stays parent-mediated

Public support is for parents. The child app has no contact form and no route for a child to message Sprout or a third party. If your child needs help, write to us through the parent support path at app.sproutgoodhabits.com/support. Please do not send child photos, videos, recordings, transcripts, full names, or birth dates unless we ask for a specific item with instructions.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Sprout. That means you will not:

• use Sprout for a child unless you are authorized to manage that child's account;
• upload unlawful, harmful, deceptive, or abusive content;
• try to bypass consent, authentication, payment, or safety controls;
• reverse engineer, scrape, overload, or interfere with the service;
• use Sprout to contact, identify, or collect information about children outside your family.

9. AI and automated features

AI features can make mistakes. Parent review remains important, especially for child activities, task proof, routines, rewards, and screen-time choices. Sprout does not use child data to train generalized AI models. More detail on AI processors and retention is in the Privacy Policy.

10. Screen-time and device controls

Screen-time features depend on Apple platform permissions, device state, network connectivity, and settings you choose. Sprout tries to make those controls reliable, but no device-control system is perfect. You remain responsible for your family's device rules and for checking that settings match what you intend.

11. International use

Sprout is operated by a United States company and may process information in the United States and in other countries where our service providers operate. If your family uses Sprout outside the United States, you understand that your information may be processed in places with privacy laws different from your home country. Country-specific privacy rights and transfer details are described in the Privacy Policy where they apply.

12. App stores and third-party services

Your use of Sprout may also be subject to Apple App Store terms, device operating-system terms, and terms from third-party services you choose to connect, such as Google or Apple sign-in. Those services are responsible for their own products and legal terms.

13. Fees and purchases

Some Sprout features may be free, included in a pilot, or offered as paid features. If a paid feature is offered through an app store or another payment provider, the payment, renewal, refund, and cancellation terms shown at purchase apply. We will not charge you unless you choose a paid offering.

14. Intellectual property

Sprout, our software, designs, characters, logos, and documentation belong to Sprout Good Habits, Inc. or our licensors. These terms do not give you ownership of Sprout. You may use the service for your family as allowed by these terms.

15. Changes to Sprout or these terms

We may update Sprout as the product changes. We may also update these terms from time to time. If a change materially affects your rights or your child's data, we will give parents notice through email, in-app notice, or another reasonable path before the change takes effect when required.

16. Ending your account

You can delete your account in the Sprout Parent app or by following the instructions on our account deletion page. We may suspend or end access if an account is used in a way that violates these terms, creates safety risk, or breaks the law. Privacy and retention commitments after deletion are governed by the Privacy Policy.

17. Disclaimers and limits

Sprout is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim warranties that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for every family's particular situation. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Sprout will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.

18. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where local law gives you rights that cannot be waived by contract. Courts in Delaware will have jurisdiction unless applicable law requires a different forum.
